William BOORMAN
(c1683-1718)
and Elizabeth (?-?)

William
Boreman and Elizabeth
may have been my 7x Great Grandparents. (Click
here to
see their possible place in my pedigree chart.) They married before
May 1709. No possible marriage has been found in the Sussex Family
History Group's marriage index nor the Sussex IGI.
William Boreman
may have been
baptised on 7 December 1684 in Burwash and buried there on 25 September
1718. If so, then he was the son of
James Boreman and
Elizabeth. Another William Bourman was baptised on 10
August 1682 in Westfield, Sussex, the son of
William Borman
and Elizabeth Soals.
Elizabeth's date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.
On 9 May 1709 a Settlement Certificate was issued by the Overseers of
Salehurst to William Boreman and wife Elizabeth, to settle in
Burwash.
William
Boreman and Elizabeth had 3 or 4 known children:
-
James Boreman was baptised on 28 August 1709 in
Salehurst. His mother's name was recorded as Ann in the
baptism register - was this an error? Did
this
James marry
Naomi Tompsett in 1735, Wadhurst?
-
Elizabeth Boreman
was baptised on 1 February 1709/10
in Burwash and buried there on 21 March 1718/9. Her mother's name
was recorded as Elizabeth at her baptism and the burial register
records that she was the daughter of widow Boreman.
-
William Boreman was baptised on 3 February
1710/11 in Salehurst. His mother's name was recorded as Elizabeth.
-
Thomas Boreman was baptised on 7 October 1716
in Burwash. His mother's name was recorded as Elizabeth.
