Peter BAXTER (1649-1707)

and unknown (?-?)

 

Peter Baxter was my 8x Great Grandfather.  (Click here to see his place in my pedigree chart.)  He married before or about 1681, but no possible marriage has been found in the Surrey Marriage Index or the IGI.

Peter Baxter was baptised on 21 March 1648/9 in Haslemere, Surrey.  He was the son of William Baxter (c1620-?) and Sarah Hull (1623-1680).  He may have been buried on 21 July 1707 in Dunsfold, Surrey.

 

Peter Baxter and unknown had 9 known children:

  1. William Baxter was baptised on 27 June 1681 in Dunsfold.  He married Anne Soane in 1705.  (They have their own page.)

  2. Peter Baxter was baptised on 13 June 1683 in Dunsfold.

  3. John Baxter was baptised on 22 October 1685 in Dunsfold.  He may have been buried on 20 January 1694 in Dunsfold.

  4. Sarah Baxter was baptised on 8 November 1688 in Dunsfold.

  5. Robert Baxter was baptised on 18 December 1690 in Dunsfold.  He died in 1727 in Heyshott, Sussex.  He left a will (ref N67).  He may have married Randol Mary Austin on 9 July 1719 in Heyshott, Sussex.  As a widow of Harting, Randall Mary Bagster married John Martin by licence on 23 July 1729 at St. Peter the Less in Chichester.  He was then a bachelor and yeoman of Heyshott.

  6. Nicholas Baxter was baptised on 18 May 1693 in Dunsfold.  He may have married Hannah Ayling in 1721.

  7. Mary Baxter was baptised on 26 September 1695 in Dunsfold.  She may have been buried on 6 June 1700 or on 1 January 1705, both burials in Dunsfold.  She did have a cousin Mary Baxter born in 1692.

  8. Henry Baxter, my 7x Great Grandfather, was baptised on 15 June 1698 in Dunsfold.  He married Constance Goodyer, widow, in 1730.  (They have their own page.)

  9. John Baxter was baptised on 17 March 1700 in Dunsfold.    Might he have been a butcher and died in 1746?  A will was left (ref 8 148).
