My Barnes
Ancestors
A 7x Great Grandmother was
Mary
Barnes who married
James
Punnett in 1712 in Peasmarsh, Sussex. I am guessing that she
was baptised in Hollington, Sussex in 1690 and was the daughter of
John Barns and
Ann Neeves. But
there was another Mary Barns baptised in Hollington in
1687, the daughter of
Michael Barns and
Elizabeth Taylor, and
she became the step mother of Henry Stoneham who married
the other Mary's daughter, Sarah Punnett. One reason
for thinking this, is because Michael Barns was the parish
clerk of Hollington, a role also undertaken by
Thomas Stoneham.
