My Balcombe AncestorsMy link into the Balcombe family is very speculative, but could be with a 9x Great Grandmother, Catherine Balcombe. She was baptised in 1585 in East Grinstead and married George Dawes there in 1611. They raised their family in Cuckfield, which is where Catherine was buried in 1656. I may also have a second 9x Great Grandmother by the name of Elizabeth Balcombe who may have been baptised in 1574 in Balcombe, and then married John Longley there in 1617. Elizabeth had previously married Richard Balcombe in 1595. He may have been born in Balcombe in 1570 the son of Edward, therefore, unless brother married sister, one of them was not the child of Edward.
