My Ashby Ancestors

A 6x Great Grandmother may have been Mary Ashby who was born in 1724 in Brighton, Sussex. She married Richard Spicer in 1746 in Stanmer, Sussex. They raised their family of 7 children in Brighton. One of their sons was Richard Spicer born in 1751 and he may have been the father of my 4x Great Grandfather Richard Spicer, who I would guess was born about 1780 - his wife Martha Howell was born in 1778 and they married in 1802 ... but I could be wrong.

Mary was the daughter of William Ashby and Ann Dudding who married in Lewes, Sussex in 1724. I have nothing further on William Ashby, but his wife Ann was baptised in Brighton in 1699.

I am also curious about Alice Ashby who was born in 1606 in Frant, Sussex and married William Haysellden in 1634 in Rotherfield. Might they have been the parents of my 9x Great Grandmother, Ann Hasleden who was of Frant when she married William Tomsett there in 1658.
