Portslade, Sussex

Do
you recognise any of the people in the following 3 photographs?

This photo may have
been taken in Portslade or Southwick in about the 1920's or early 1930's.
My Grandfather,
William Charles Willard (1894-1948) is the one with the cigarette, hand
in pocket and leaning on the wheel.
At the time he would
have been employed at the Gas Works.

National British
Women's Temperance Association - Portslade Branch - 18 August 1949
Taken in Wannock
Gardens, Polegate, Sussex.
The little boy is
John Patching and he is with his mother Dolly Patching, nee
Warman (1905-1993), my Great Aunt.
The lady seated in
the front row, second from the right is my Great Grandmother,
Flora
Warman, nee Boorman (1868-1952).
Frank Young,
with the help of his sister-in-law, has identified 5 of the ladies in the
above photo. They are Audrey Prosser and her mother Mrs.
Prosser, nee Streeter, standing in the middle of the back row. Next to
Mrs. Prosser is her sister-in-law, Mrs. Streeter married to Bert Streeter.
Then down on the front row, seated on chairs, first on the left is old Mrs.
Streeter, mother of Mrs. Prosser, and next to her is little Mrs. Parsons who
was Frank's next door neighbour in East Street, Portslade. Frank's elder brother, Jim Young,
married Violet Prosser, sister of Audrey.
Pam Evans
tells me that her Great Grandmother Elizabeth Wells is seated first on the left. Elizabeth owned the approved school for
boys in Mile Oak.

My Grandmother,
Bessie Willard, nee Warman (1900-1987), is seated in the centre.
